Members of the nursing staff at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas met with the media Oct. 20 for the first time to discuss the care of Thomas Eric Duncan, the patient with Ebola, who passed away of the disease Oct. 8, and express well wishes for Texas Health Dallas nurses Nina Pham and Amber Vinson, who are currently being treated for Ebola.

During the press conference, the hospital’s CNO, Cole Edmonson, DNP, RN, FACHE, NEA-BC, addressed the public’s trust in the hospital. “The reason we’re here today is to make sure people know that Texas Health Presbyterian in Dallas is still a great hospital, an excellent hospital,” Edmonson said. “We know we need to reaffirm the public’s trust in us, but we’re asking our community to stand with us today. We will reaffirm your trust in Presbyterian.”
